A Defining Night for Football and Qatar
On April 1, 2022, at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Center (DECC), Qatar hosted the FIFA Final Draw Dinner following the official draw of the 32 nations competing in the 2022 FIFA World Cup™. Attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and global personalities such as Idris Elba, this gala embodied Qatar’s global vision and The Planners’ ability to deliver at the highest level.
For The Planners, being entrusted by Q22 to produce this prestigious evening was a testament to our expertise in delivering high-caliber, globally significant events.
Transforming a Venue into a “Tropical Desert” Dream
One of our most ambitious transformations to date, the DECC hall was reimagined as a lush “tropical desert” dining space. From elaborate botanical installations and refined cocktail lounges to elegant communal dining tables and a grand stage with an immersive LED screen, every element was meticulously crafted to evoke sophistication and wonder.
The setup included custom table décor, vibrant greenery, and ambient lighting, creating an atmosphere that felt vibrant and monumental — a perfect reflection of the World Cup spirit.
Celebrating Culture Through Art & Performance
This milestone event went beyond decor. It showcased a thoughtful curation of regional and international entertainment, including:
- Ghenwa Nemnom performing on the qanun at the entrance, setting a warm, culturally rooted welcome.
- Aleph and his band, providing a dynamic soundtrack throughout dinner.
- A special performance by Dana Al Fardan, blending Western and Arabic music influences in a globally celebrated showpiece.
- Traditional ardha dancers and rose-spraying attendants, paying homage to Gulf hospitality and traditions.
These cultural highlights transformed the dinner into a rich sensory journey, embodying the spirit of Qatar and the unifying power of football.
